About Ryan Lee

Every artist is inspired by other artists. It's how we learn. It's how we get off the ground in our early years. It gives us a perspective on the art world and helps us identify ourselves in the history of the creative minds that have come before us.

That being said, here are a few of the artists whose creations and philosophies have inspired me along the way:
Christo & Jeanne-Claude | David Fokos | Andy Goldsworthy

I don't let the influx of visual stimuli in my daily life get in the way of the things I want to see for myself. Web design keeps me busy during the day. Photography is my artistic outlet away from the computer, and sometimes it sits me back down in front of the computer again. And that is ok. Photoshop is a tool, as much as expensive camera equipment is. I embrace change and yet remain true to my own vision. I began my artistic photography with a Minolta SRT101 and now use a Nikon D300.

I was born in 1976 and currently live in Waterford, Connecticut which is five minutes from the town I grew up in, Old Lyme. Family is important, as is a sense of belonging in a place. I enjoy working on my house and in that sense sometimes think of myself as a sculptor. I am married and have several pets.
